Tips for Hiring a Disc Jockey for Your Event

 

Hiring a Disc Jockey for your event is one of the most important and crucial decisions that you will make.  People often overlook quality entertainment based on cost alone. 

DJ Master Mix believes that the most important thing in hiring a Disc Jockey, is that you must be comfortable with the DJ Service that you choose.  DJ Master Mix realizes that we are not right for every event and we recommend that you contact more than one DJ Service prior to making your decision, and hire the DJ Service that makes you feel the most comfortable and is able to provide the services you desire. DJ Master Mix tailors your event to suit your taste and meet the needs of you and your guests.

DJ Master Mix may not be the cheapest DJ Service that you contact and we know that we are not the most expensive. Did the DJ Service return your phone call or email in a prompt manner?

 

 

DJ Master Mix believes that all phone calls and emails should be returned as soon as possible.  Although we may not be able to answer your correspondence within a few hours, we vow to make contact within 24 hours of receiving a telephone call or email.

 

2.

Is the DJ Service willing to meet with you in person?

 

 

Some people feel more comfortable meeting with the DJ before signing a written contract.  DJ Master Mix will meet with you in person before booking your event if it is your desire.  DJ Master Mix also meets with every client 4 to 6 weeks before the event to finalize the coordination and planning of the event.

Does the DJ Service have knowledge of the type of event you are planning?

 

 

DJ Master Mix has been in business since 1991 and has preformed at hundreds of events.  DJ Master Mix specializes in Wedding Receptions, Company Parties, Reunions, and School Dances.

 

4.

Will the person you talk to on the phone be the person DJ’ing your event?

 

 

Make sure that you know who will be DJ’ing your event.  DJ Master Mix consists of two DJ’s, Rob Gaskill and Scott Stewart.  Rob is the Owner and Founder of DJ Master Mix and will be present at all events unless this is discussed before booking.  You will always know who your DJ will be when you hire DJ Master Mix.

Does the DJ Service have a written contract?

 

 

DJ Master Mix recommends that you never trust a DJ Service that does not provide a written contract for services.

 

6.

Does the DJ Service have a viewable Music Database?

 

 

DJ Master Mix has a Microsoft Access Database with all of their music cataloged.  DJ Master Mix has over 1300 CD’s and has an extensive MP3 library.  DJ Master Mix will provide you a copy of the Database upon request.

Does the DJ Service use Professional Equipment?

8.

Will the DJ Service take requests the night of your event?

 

 

DJ Master Mix brings their extensive Music Library to every event and is able to play the requests of you and your guests. At the planning and coordination meeting, DJ Master Mix will discuss with you the type of music that your want to hear and will develop a list of songs that you definitely want played and also a list of songs that you do not want to hear.

 

9.

Does the DJ Service provide backup equipment at your event?

 

 

DJ Master Mix carries a complete backup for each piece of equipment used at your event.  Although equipment failure is rare, DJ Master Mix does not want equipment failure to ruin your event.

 

10.

How much time does the DJ Service allow for set-up?

 

 

DJ Master Mix will arrive at your event two hours before it is scheduled to start.  Although it only takes about an hour to set up the equipment, DJ Master Mix allows extra time to resolve any unplanned or unforeseen issues that may arise.

 

11.

How will the DJ be dressed for your event?

 

 

DJ Master Mix will be dressed to suit the style and type of your event.  DJ Master Mix always wears tuxedos to Wedding Receptions unless requested not to by the client.

 

12.

Will the DJ Service play longer than the contracted amount of time?

 

 

DJ Master Mix only schedules one event per day per DJ and is willing to remain longer than the contracted time if you desire.  DJ Master Mix specifies the fee for additional hours in the written contract.
